Hick is one of those super broke, go anywhere, easy to ride guys that
can do just about every job that is out there. Hick originally had
some cutting training and has been used for ranch work, pasture roping,
playdays, trail riding, ridden in traffic, and used as a turnback horse and
used for riding lessons. He has won money competing in team penning
and ranch sorting. Solid and honest, Hick will ride around with no
bridle and has a fun, simple handle - but still has all the moves you could
want. Big, quick stop, pretty lope-offs, will do lead changes, nice
turn around both ways, great rollbacks, side passes well , backs up off of
leg, will work a gate perfectly, and stands for mount and dismount.
Will ride around low and relaxed with a nice little collected jog and a
comfy lope. He rides in a full bit or just a loose ring snaffle, goes
around nice one-handed or with more contact two-handed. Solid ground
manners, easy to catch, groom, pick feet, tack up, bridle, bathe, load,
haul, and quiet for the vet and the farrier. This gelding is just the
right age and has the handle and attitude that everyone is looking for.
